In the Old Testament, a prophet named Elijah was called to do the Lords work.  God used him in mighty ways to spread the message of a loving and just God.  However, during a time of drought and difficult times, Elijah was sustained by God’s loving care.  The provision that God provided Elijah was in the form of much needed water.  An oasis in the desert.  The place God provided Elijah was called “Brook Kerith.” A stream of clean water that provided both nourishment and refuge in a time of trouble.

We, at Brook Kerith, exist to recreate that same loving provision in times of need. We desire to spread Gods love to the world, specifically to leaders who are pouring into the next generation, in the form of providing a modern day “Brook Kerith” experience. 

When leaders are struggling, we show up as the hands and feet of God.

When leaders need encouragement, we come alongside and provide just that.

 When leaders need a reminder that God has not forgotten them, we provide the much needed reminder in the form of support and care.

Simply put, we exist to come alongside leaders who are serving and leading others, and provide support, encouragement, and a much needed reminder that their work is surely not in vain.

We do this in the form of:

Time: We build relationships and we listen when leaders need a trusting ear.

Talent: We call on our personal talents and the networks we are connected to, to identify needed resources to assist these leaders in their work.

Treasure: We provide financial assistance in special times of need, to help each leader not lose heart and to continue the important work they are involved in.

We recently worked with a leader in Oakland County Michigan who has been pouring into young men for over 25 years.  He has touched the lives of young men all throughout the United States and even globally, on several continents. We have seen, firsthand, the fruit from his work as his vocational passion has been to come alongside young men, many who come from depressed backgrounds, and has mentored them along their paths to blossom into productive and responsible citizens. Recently, he has needed support in a few different ways, and we were delighted to step up and be a blessing to his ministry.  Brook Kerith provided some resources to him that has both made it possible for him to continue, and has put muscle in his faith as he’s described the support as “divine provision from God.”  We are thrilled to continue to watch his leadership unfold and continue to support him as we watch the young men under his tutelage grow and thrive.  In turn, we trust these young men will, one day, pass those leadership lessons to the next generation.  This is the model we believe in.  This is the model that excites us.  Quiet and steady leadership, at the organic level, blessing others.  Changing the world, one person at a time.  Generation to generation.
